My camera has taught me to live in the moment and to look at life from many angles. Living year round on Block Island I am privileged to have a personal relationship with my subjects. Whether it’s a sunrise or sunset, an island child or an island dog, or even a landmark like the Southeast Light, living on Block Island gives me an intimate connection that comes through in the immediacy of my work. My photos are not staged or altered. I am part of the moment, aware of the flow between me and my subjects. My yoga practice is an important influence on my work that has expanded my awareness, opened my heart, and taught me to stay committed to the present moment. Every sunrise and sunset is different, every breath a new breath. My wish is to share the beauty of life on Block Island. I want my photos to evoke wonder, gratitude and delight in everyone who sees them. My hope, in sharing my vision of Block Island, is that you will be able to return here whenever you look at one of my photos.
